On this article we will try to make you understand the importance of the travel risk management without coming into the deep details but exemple based on the real life.
Even you travel to a different province, state, country or continent, the lifestyle won’t be the same and also people won’t know you.
Either you travel for business or holidays you have to be aware about some information about the location you are going to visit.
Most of people will, of course, check if the country is safe and government stable.
But there is many factors to check the safety of a location where you will travel.
Indeed, the country might be safe for the people living there but is it also safe for travelers?
It is something you must check on the open sources to have basics info if travelers have had some trouble in the past. I.g: Do not forget that in all countries there is some people or group of people who can be racist (color, religion, sexual orientation, …) so it is very important to check according to yourself the level of safety in a “stable country” . But do not forget that even in a stable country, local criminals will notice that you are travelling, so a very good proy for them.
My basic advice, even in stable countries: walk in the main roads, avoid a maximum small streets or empty streets. Preferably hire a professional vetted, trained, experienced protector (contact us for a professional service).
Always hide your cash and values (and try to have a strict minimum of cash with you), ID documents or keep only a copy with you and keep the original in the safe at the hotel.
If you don’t speak the language of the country, learn a minimum at least the minimum information about you: all countries do not speak english or have translators available.
Always keep a business card of your hotel, if you are lost, you can show it to a registered taxi to take you there.
Always have the phone number of your embassy and if they have, their emergency number.
Ok, so that was for the life of everyday when you travel.
But, have you think if you get sick, same as I said previoulsy, how will you explain what you have if you go in a pharmacie and they don’t speak english or same for the hospital?
Imagine you get a severe allergie and you do not have the proper medication with you?
I will finish soon this article by saying: always always prepare your trip either business or pleasure. Get an insurance, not only the one from your bank that will cover you for lost luggage, but a real travel insurance that will assist you in case of real medical problem, declare yourself to your embassy once you arrive, try to understand the usages of the country you visit…
This is it, that was a short article with the minimum information you need to have when you travel abroad even in a safe country.
As owner of company and ex personal protection officer of a ultra rich prince of Middle-East, I’d to deal with many medical and criminal situations to manage in my country (France) as well as abroad (London-UK, Colorado-USA, Brazil, Spain, Morocco, …) thanks God, I had prepared all the travels.
Also, you will find below some article about crimes against tourists in “safe said countries”:
